Edgar
(Antonio Edo Mosquera)
(1922 - 30/1/2003, Spain)
Antonio Edo Mosquera, better known as Edgar, was born in Valencia. Edgar
did his first artistic work early in his life. During the Civil War, he drew
several anti-fascist posters, along with his brother. He joined the publishing
house Valenciana in the late 1940s, where his actual career began. Mosquera
stayed at this important publisher of infantile productions until 1984, when
Valenciana folded. He was active for Jaimito and Pumby magazines. For the
latter, he created his most famous work, the Little Red Riding Hood parody
'Caperucita Encarnada'.
